We want to capture the source campaign for new leads via our website. How does that work?
To record the campaign that new visitors use to reach your website, you can use the utm_campaign URL parameter. To do this, no longer link to your normal web address for the corresponding publications in your campaign, but add the utm_campaign parameter.
The utm_campaign parameter must be set to the “slug” of the respective campaign. You can find out the slug of a campaign in Mister James under “Settings”, “Campaigns.” If you click on a campaign there, you will find the corresponding slug for the campaign:
So based on this example, you would no longer link to https://www.ihrewebsite.de but to
https://www.ihrewebsite.de/?utm_campaign=Software implementation
The tracking script from Mister James will automatically evaluate this parameter and first store it with the Ghost visitor. If the Ghost visitor later converts to a qualified lead, the corresponding campaign is also stored as the original campaign for the contact.
